We arrive at our hotel (Shiva’s Dream) in Sauraha in Chitwan National Park in the early afternoon and are greeted by a group of women from some sort of community centre next door. Scouse headmaster Pete has a little dance and his wife (& Headmistress) Pam tips the ladies.
We’re in jungle country now, and the road is a dirt track occupied largely by elephant traffic. We book an elephant ride for the next day through the hotel, which turns out to be more expensive than if we had booked through an operator in town, though the hotel service was recommended to us by the UK to Oz contact in Nepal.
I have diarrhea again, although that hardly seems worth mentioning. Maybe I shouldn't. I wake up many times in the night disturbing my roommates Laurie and Brian.
